Janice L. Ours, 61, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Lakeview Specialty Hospital in Waterford.

She was born on June 26, 1950 to the late Kenneth and Carol (Emmering) Carlson in Chicago, IL. She was educated in the schools of McHenry Illinois. She attended the University of Southern California.

On April 13, 1985 she married John W. Ours at the Silver Lake Baptist Church.

Janice and her husband owned and operated the New Horizon in McHenry and then was the owner and proprietor of Black Unicorns Lair.

Janice was a former member of the Silver Lake Baptist Church. She was a member of the Westosha Area Gamers Society, the Role Players Gamers Association, the One World By Night and the Silver Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

She was a talented artist and creator of fine jewelry and writer and author. She enjoyed watching movies and gaming with her grandchildren. She was a force in development and director of various youth programs.

Janice is survived by her husband, her son Paul Carlson of Racine, her sister Linda (Mike) Wilour of Palatine, IL and her grandchildren Connar, Crystal, Nathaniel, Emily and Eizens.

Funeral Services for Janice will be held on Sunday, April 15th at 4:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
