Garth Edward Kovachik went home to be with his Lord, his mother, his father and his sister Wendy on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
He was born on January 7, 1950 to the late John and Helen (Silson) Kovachik in Kenosha. Garth attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in June of 1968.
He was employed at the family business, the Kovachik Travel Agency for 18 years. He moved to Florida in 1988 and returned to Kenosha in 2004.
He married Linda Marie Baumann on September 21, 1974. They later divorced.
Garth was employed with the City of Kenosha as a worker at the Washington Municipal Golf Course and at Anderson Park.
Garth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and loved singing bass in the choir.
Garth was a devoted NASCAR fan and loved to watch his driver Matt Kenseth.
Garth is survived by his son James Garth (Allison) Kovachik of Trevor, his three grandsons Alexander, Aydan and Cole, his granddaughter Skylar all of Trevor and his brother Bradford John (Deborah) Kovachik of Pleasant Prairie.
Garth loved the Lord and his entire family very much. He was very sensitive to all he encountered. He is truly happy now.
A Memorial Service for Garth will be held on Saturday, August 11th at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church (1803 – 83rd St.). Memorials would be appreciated to the family.
